"I've been exploring the connection between my art and movement lately. I wanted to utilize the qualities of ink and water in order to visually display my ideas of expansion. When I think of expanse I think of one of my favorite organic forms- the bloom."
- Dan Huston
After graduating from Bates college with a degree in studio art and environmental studies, I moved to Portland, Oregon to further pursue my art and understanding of its relation to the natural world. My work is strongly influenced by traditional Japanese and Chinese ink painting which I studied for a semester in Osaka, Japan. It is not only a reflection of my love for organic form and abstraction, but also my own impulsive thought and movement which I have been exploring through doodling for as long as I can remember! I think of my art as the visual manifestation of my own stream of consciousness. www.Danhustonpdx.com
