Conceptually, the short stories found in Sir Thomas Malory's Le Morte d'Arthur (1485), which was important in defining the ideal of chivalry, served as the inspiration for the prints in this collection.

Aesthetically, the armor referenced in these prints were heavily inspired by the Arms and Armor exhibit in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, which houses rare pieces from pre-1500 Europe, specifically the highly decorative armor from the Royal Workshops at Greenwich founded by Henry VIII.

Each poster embodies the essentials to the modern concept of the knight; an elite warrior sworn to uphold the values of faith, loyalty, courage, and honour.
