The Art Behind Allure

Call them annoying, but creatives put their all into engaging you with ads. This collection is dedicated to the beauty that goes into them, which is too often overlooked.

Whether you love or hate them, they're everywhere. Advertisements are arguably what fueled our capitalistic model post Industrialization era. And history lesson aside, they are designed to linger in your mind. If you type in the start of the question "Why does Hulu" in Google, you'll notice the first suggestive predicate is "have ads?" It's no wonder that us spoiled, modern-day streamers do all they can to skip ads. While we're exhibiting prints, not video, this collection is our reminder to you to stop and smell the roses. The prints, unlike video ads, are frozen in time, regardless of their initial release date, and are reminders of some dated creative strategy that speaks to one time and one time only. In one single ad, we see the mindset of the general public of that place and time. Psychologists, marketers, and artists alike, congregated to decide the best way to relay brand messages to the masses, a graceful yet finicky dance professionals in the field must adapt to and relearn constantly. Furthermore, some of our offerings here are artists' renditions of those messages, warped and twisted, to convey a new, more personal story. One less clear than any brand would relay. This artistic vortex is all yours. Enjoy.
